CalciMedica Notice of Information Practices

This Notice of Information Practices (“Notice”) is intended to give notice of how CalciMedica Inc. (“CalciMedica,” “We” or “Us”) collects, uses and discloses personal identifiable information (“PII”).

Why Did CalciMedica Publish this Notice?

CalciMedica published this Notice to ensure that individuals and regulatory agencies are informed with respect to its activities, its possible collection, use and disclosure of PII, and individual’s rights with respect to PII.

What Does CalciMedica Do?

CalciMedica is a clinical-stage biotechnology company which develops drugs for the treatment of certain diseases. PII may be used and disclosed for purposes of clinical trials of drugs in development by or for CalciMedica. CalciMedica does not administer these clinical trials. CalciMedica does not provide health or medical care or treatment to patients, pay the cost of health or medical care for patients, or process health or medical care claims transactions. CalciMedica does not sell or provide goods or services to individuals.

Does CalciMedica Collect PII?

CalciMedica does not collect PII from clinical trials, from providing goods or services to individuals, or from its business operations. CalciMedica may collect PII through emails sent to contact email addresses published on its Website at https://calcimedica.com/ and in this Notice (“Contact PII”). CalciMedica cannot control the information a sender may choose to send to CalciMedica.

CalciMedica may also collect information which about user activity on its Website (“Website Information”), which may include information about the device used, including the operating system, browser of the device, and information identifying the device (“Device Information”). Device Information is not PII.

Website Information may also include the IP address of the device. The IP address may provide network information which may be used to determine the country, state or other jurisdictional unit, and sometimes city and postal code where the device was used (“Location Information”). Location Information is not PII but it may be possible to combine Location Information with other information to create PII.

CalciMedica does not knowingly solicit or receive PII from residents of member states of the European Union.

What Does CalciMedica Do with PII?

CalciMedica may use and disclose Contact Email included to respond to the sender.

CalciMedica will not use Location Information to create PII, but may disclose Location Information for purposes of investigation of potentially illegal activity or in response to legal process or requirements.

CalciMedica does not sell PII, or provide it to third parties except as described in this Notice.

What Rights Do Individuals Have with Respect to PII and Other Information?

CalciMedica does not administer clinical trials and cannot provide individuals with any rights with respect to their PII involved in clinical trials.

CalciMedica cannot identify the individuals who may be associated with Website Information and is unable to provide such individuals with any rights with respect to such information.

An individual who has provided CalciMedica with Contact PII may:

  • Request that CalciMedica not use or disclose the Contact PII to contact the sender. Any such request must be in email sent from the same email address as the email address the Contact PII was sent from. Any such request must be sent to the email address provided in this Notice.

How Does CalciMedica Protect PII?

CalciMedica uses commercially reasonable safeguards to protect Contact PII consistent with standard practices for the protection of email.

Can CalciMedica Amend this Notice?

We reserve the right to revise and update this Notice of Information Practices, and to make any new notice applicable to all PII We maintain, to the extent permitted by law. We will provide notification of any new notice by prominent publication on our Website no later than sixty (60) days before the effective date of the new notice.

How Do I File a Complaint?

If an individual who has provided Us with Contact PII believes We have violated his or her legal rights, that individual may file a complaint with Us using Contact Information provided in this Notice.

Individuals may also contact the Federal Trade Commission or the attorney general of their state of residence.
